The School of Nursing at Kent State University offers post-master’s certificates in seven nurse practitioner specialties: acute care, adult primary care, family health, gerontology, pediatrics, psychiatry/mental health and women’s health. Applications are only accepted as facility space and faculty become available. Students interested in the program must contact the nursing admissions office to start the process.

The University of Toledo College of Nursing confers post-master’s certificates for adult health, family health, psychiatry/mental health and pediatric health nurse practitioner specialties. To apply, applicants must have an Ohio registered nurse license, a master’s degree in nursing from an accredited nursing program, personal statement, resume, two recommendations and submission to a criminal background check. Accepted students can choose to matriculate in the spring or fall.

The program admits students in the spring, summer and fall semesters. Application requirements include a master’s degree in nursing, two recommendation letters, a purpose and goals statement, and a resume. Though not required, Graduate Record Exam scores from previous master’s program are highly suggested.
