Nurse Practitioner Programs in Massachusetts

Nurse practitioners (NPs) are advanced level registered nurses (RNs) who have at least a master's degree in nursing. NPs work in a variety of settings, and can perform physical examinations, diagnose and treat acute illness, prescribe medications and therapy and provide referrals to physicians, if needed. NPs often specialize in certain areas, such as adult health, pediatric health or women's health. Several schools in Massachusetts offer master's programs in nursing with nurse practitioner tracks.
