The Grambling State graduate nursing program confers the master of science in nursing degree for family nurse practitioner licensure. Applicants must have a bachelor of science in nursing degree with at least a 3.0 GPA, satisfactory Graduate Record Examination scores, health assessment and statistics prerequisite courses, current registered nurse licensure with at least two years' work experience, proof of malpractice coverage, three letters of recommendation and an interview. Accepted students matriculate in the fall, attend the program part time basis and finish in two years, including a summer semester.

The School of Nursing at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center offers two nurse practitioner options: primary care and neonatal health. To apply, applicants must have a bachelor of science in nursing degree, satisfactory scores on the Miller Analogy Test or Graduate Record Examination, three letters of recommendation, an unrestricted registered nurse license with at least one year of experience, basic life support CPR certification and a personal goal statement. Students matriculate in the spring or fall and can study either full time or part time.
