  1. Always Focusing on Katy Scholarship

    • Grand Vision Center, located in Katy, Texas, offers local graduating high school seniors $1,000 college scholarships. To be eligible, the student must have between a 2.5 and 3.5 GPA and submit the scholarship application by the due date. The application must be submitted by the student's counselor, and a third party group will decide on the recipients of the scholarship. Four $1,000 scholarships will be given to students. The application deadline for the 2010 scholarship has passed, but interested students should check the Grand Vision website next year for scholarship information.

    Texas Garden Club Scholarship

    • The Texas Garden Club, Inc. gives scholarships to Texas college students majoring in the field of horticulture. Students who live in Katy, Texas, would also be eligible. Applicants for the scholarship should be Texas resident students who are juniors in college or above. They should also have at least a 3.25 GPA and major in either floriculture, landscape design, horticulture, botany, biology, plant pathology, forestry, agronomy, environmental concerns, city floriture planning or land management.

    L.D. Robinson Scholarship Fund, Inc.

    • The L.D. Robinson Scholarship is given to graduating high school seniors who participate in the Katy I.S.D. FFA and Agriculture Science Program. Each year, three to four four-year scholarships in the amount of $500 per semester are given to winners. Over the course of four years, the total award amount is $4,000. Applications for the scholarship should be turned in to the student's school counselor, and applicants are interviewed by the L.D. Robinson Scholarship Board of Directors to determine winners. Recipients of the scholarship will be presented with their award during their high school senior awards ceremony. Applications for the scholarship can be found online.
