Texas Panhandle Scholarships

The Texas Panhandle comprises the state's northernmost 26 counties and, according to the Panhandle Regional Planning Commission, has a population of more than 400,000. Amarillo is the largest of 60 cities in the Texas Panhandle. According to Panhandle Twenty/20, Texas has high poverty rates, low wages and ranks 50th among the states in the number of adults who have high school diplomas. Scholarships often enable the first person in a family to attend college or they may help older students to increase their earning potential.
