Texas A&M Scholarships

Many scholarships are available to Texas A&M students. According to the A&M website, scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic achievement, extracurricular activities, volunteer services, employment and financial need. Scholarship are classified into five categories: incoming freshmen, transfer students, continuing students, international students and graduate/professional students. Individual departments also offer scholarships that students should pursue.
  1. Incoming Freshman and Transfer Students

    • Incoming freshman may apply for the following scholarships by using the ApplyTexas Application for Freshman Admissions application:

      Opportunity Award - based on high school academic record, character, activities, leadership ability, SAT or ACT scores; evidence of financial need.

      State Engineering Scholarship Program - students who seek an undergraduate degree in engineering.

      Top 10% Scholarship Program - have financial need and graduate in the top 10 percent of high school class..

      Regents' Scholarship - first-generation college student, family's adjusted gross income less than $40,000.

      Terry Foundation Scholarship - financial need, strong academic abilities.

      Honors Programs & Academic Scholarships - 1,000 four-year scholarships to high achieving freshmen and some one-year scholarships to transfer students and continuing students.

      Dependent Children of Texas A&M Scholarship - for the chilldren of Texas A &M faculty and staff with 50% evaluated on academic merit and 50% awarded on need and merit.

      Aggie Transfer Scholarship - finished 24 hours or more at a previous institution.

      Faye Leeth Memorial Endowed Scholarship - designed to help veterans whether they are incoming or continuing.

    Continuing and International Students

    • Academic Excellence Award - 800 students are awarded $500 to $1,500 per year based on academics and campus involvement.

      J. Malon Southerland Aggie Leader Scholarship - based on leadership and campus involvement.

      Begum Akhtar Akram International Scholarship - based on financial need and Pakistani heritage.

    Graduate and Professional Students

    • Jack Kent Cooke Foundation's Graduate Scholarship Program - Up to $50,000 per year for up to six years to students in a graduate degree program. Must have financial need and obtained their undergraduate degree within the past five years.

      ConocoPhillips SPIRIT Scholarships Program - $5,000 a year for students interested in energy business careers.
