Scholarships in East Texas

If you're a student living in eastern Texas, there are a number of scholarship resources available to help you pay for a college education. These scholarship programs are offered by a number of different organizations. They share a common goal of rewarding academic achievement and enabling more East Texas students to pursue a college degree.
  1. East Texas Professional Credit Union Scholarships

    • The East Texas Professional Credit Union Presidential Scholarship is awarded to graduating high school seniors who attend schools in selected counties in eastern Texas. Applicants or an immediate family member must also be a member of the ETPCU in good standing. Scholarships of $1,000 are available for selected students who possess a minimum 2.5 GPA, plan to enroll full-time at an accredited Texas college or university and have a demonstrated financial need.

    East Texas Manufacturers Scholarship

    • The East Texas Manufacturers Scholarship Program is open to East Texas students who are pursuing an associate's degree at Texas State Technical College in an area related to manufacturing, such as industrial maintenance or safety compliance. Applicants must have graduated from a high school within a 50-mile radius of Longview, Texas and maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA. Selected students may receive up to $6,000 and recipients are required to participate in mentoring opportunities to maintain their eligibility.

    AHMA East Texas Scholarship Program

    • The Affordable Housing Management Association of East Texas Scholarship Program is available to students who are residents of an AHMA East Texas member property or a Houston-area Section 8 housing project. The program provides scholarships of $2,500 to $5,000 to deserving students who demonstrate academic achievement, leadership skills, strength of character and a desire to succeed despite adverse circumstances.

    East Texas Section Society of Petroleum Engineers Scholarship

    • The East Texas Section of the Society of Petroleum Engineers provides scholarship awards to graduating East Texas high school seniors who plan to enroll in an accredited four-year engineering program. Applicants must be planning to major in petroleum engineering, mechanical engineering or chemical engineering and selected students will receive up to $7,000 over the course of their enrollment.

    East Texas State Fair Scholarships

    • The East Texas State Fair sponsors multiple scholarship awards for graduating East Texas high school seniors who plan to attend an accredited Texas college or university. Scholarship awards range from $1,000 to $3,000 and individual eligibility requirements vary for each award.
