The bridge program for LPNs at nearby St. Charles Community College, allows LPNs to earn the associate RN degree in a single year. This college, located a half hour away from St. Louis in Cottleville, requires both passage of a dosing test and course work prerequisites for admission to the nursing bridge program. This bridge program bypasses the entire first semester of simple beginning nursing courses. Students jump directly to more advanced course work and the corresponding clinical class. Students may challenge other courses. This program cuts a full year out of nursing course work. This program does not offer a night option, but meets only twice per week. Some semesters the college offers weekend versions of these courses to accommodate working students.
