Located in Pewaukee, Waukesha County Technical College offers a one-year LPN training program. The full-time program is comprised of a total of 36 credits. Classes meet Monday through Friday during the daytime hours. Clinical rotations are typically scheduled during the work week, though occasionally clinical rotations are scheduled on a Saturday or Sunday. Students have clinical experiences in nursing homes, clinics and hospitals in the local area. Classes start each year in the fall.

Most clinical rotations are scheduled during the work week, though some of them are on the weekends. Students wishing to attend this college's LPN program must petition for acceptance. Located in Eau Claire, Chippewa Valley Technical College offers a two-year Registered Nurse (RN) program. Upon completion of the first year of the program, students are eligible to take the licensing exam to become LPNs. Upon completion of the first year of the program, students have the option to withdrawal from the program and become LPNs without pursuing the remainder of the program to become an RN.
