    • Louisiana Technical College is a state-operated technical school with 40 campus locations in every region of Louisiana. LTC offers an accredited, technical diploma LPN program that takes two years to complete. The program prepares students to become LPNs by teaching all of the LPN nursing concepts set forth by the Louisiana State Board of Practical Nurse Examiners (LSBPNE). Some of the classes include nursing fundamentals, practical nursing perspectives, basic pharmacology, IV therapy, nutritional aspects, pediatrics and obstetrics. You will also be required to take prerequisite courses; however, those courses may be exempt based on entrance test scores or completion of previous college level courses that are applicable. Graduates will qualify to sit for the National Council of State Boards Licensure Examination for Practical Nurses (NCLEX-PN) to become licensed practical nurses.

    Delta College

    • Delta College is a private college with campus locations in Baton Rouge, Lafayette, Slidell and Covington. The college is accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges of Technology. DC offers an LPN program that is offered in the daytime and evening hours. The daytime program runs 15 months and the evening program is 24 months long because it is more of a part-time program. Graduates of this program will be able to sit for the Louisiana Practical Nursing Exam to become a licensed practical nurse.

    • The Lafayette General Medical Center School of Health Sciences is a division of Lafayette General Hospital, a community owned and managed hospital in Lafayette. The LGMC School of Health Sciences offers an accredited LPN program. This 13-month program is offered in the daytime only and students complete their internship at the Lafayette General Medical Center. According to the hospital's website, this program progresses from basic to advanced in all areas of LPN instruction. The courses take place in classroom, lab and clinical settings. Graduates of this program will be prepared to take the National Council of State Boards Licensure Examination for Practical Nurses (NCLEX-PN) to become licensed practical nurses.
