LPN & RN Programs in Ohio

Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and Registered Nurses (RNs) are integral members of the health care team. Many people choose to start their careers as LPNs and RNs while others wish to change their careers and start nursing. Students in Ohio have a variety of educational options in which to choose to pursue nursing.
  1. Central Ohio Technical College

    • Central Ohio Technical College offers both an LPN and an RN program. The LPN program is a two semester course leading to a certificate of completion and eligibility to take the NCLEX-PN (National Council Licensure Examination - Practical Nurse), an exam that all students are required to pass in order to gain licensure as an LPN. The RN program is a four semester course leading to an Associate of Applied Science in Nursing Technology degree and the opportunity to take the NCLEX-RN, which all students muss pass to be eligible for RN licensure. All classes are held during the day. Financial assistance is available for eligible students.

    Clark State Community College

    • Clark State Community College offers both LPN and RN programs. The LPN program is two semesters in length and leads to a certificate of completion and opportunity to take the NCLEX-PN. The RN program is a four semester program and leads to an associate degree and the opportunity to take the NCLEX-RN. Day, evening and weekend classes are available. Financial aid may be available to eligible students.

    Columbus State Community College

    • Columbus State Community College offers LPN and RN programs. The RN program is available as a mixture of hybrid online and in-person classes designed for students that have a bachelors degree and wish to pursue nursing and in a traditional in-class setting for students without a degree. The RN program is four semesters in length for those without a degree and three semesters for those with a degree pursuing the online option. An associate degree is earned in the RN program and eligibility to take the NCLEX-RN is obtained upon graduation from the program. The LPN program, which is two semesters in length, leads to a certificate of completion and the opportunity to take the NCLEX-PN. Financial aid is available.
