LPN Programs in the State of Ohio

Licensed practical nurses (LPNs) provide patient care, typically under the supervision of registered nurses (RNs). In Ohio, several institutions offer training for people who want to become an LPN.
  1. Lorain County Community College

    • Lorain County Community College, located in Elyria, has partnered with Medina County Career Center to offer students a two-semester LPN program starting in the fall. The full-time program incorporates both classroom and hands-on instruction. Students can gain experience in hospitals, long-term care facilities, nursing homes and clinics. Financial aid is available for qualifying students.

    Hocking College

    • Located in Nelsonville, Hocking College offers both full-time and part-time LPN training programs. The full-time day program takes four quarters and starts in the fall. The part-time evening and weekend program takes eight quarters and starts in the fall quarter of even-numbered years. Graduates of the LPN program can apply for the college's RN program. Financial aid is available.

    Great Oaks Institute of Technology and Career Development

    • Great Oaks Institute of Technology and Career Development, in Cincinnati, offers day and evening classes for aspiring LPNs. The day program takes a year and the evening program 18 months. Clinical experience is offered at hospitals, acute care centers, rehabilitation centers and long-term care facilities. Students may qualify for financial aid.
