Drew University is located on a sprawling 186-acre campus in Madison. Founded in 1928, the school offers Bachelor of Arts degrees in 29 diverse academic fields of study. The university also offers master's degree programs in teaching, poetry, arts and letters, medical humanities, and history and culture. The Drew Theological School offers master's degrees in divinity, ministry and sacred theology. The school opened New Jersey's first environmentally friendly dorm in January 2009.

Trenton's Thomas Edison State College offers associate, undergraduate, graduate and professional certificate programs tailored to adult students. Over 100 areas of study are available to students, ranging from air traffic control to dietetic sciences, homeland security, management and journalism. Thomas Edison State is also home to the John S. Bloomfield College's 11-acre campus is located in the city of Bloomfield just 15 miles east of New York City. Undergraduate degree programs are offered across seven academic disciplines including accounting, creative arts, education, humanities, nursing, and social and behavioral sciences.
