Business Colleges in New Jersey

College students looking to study business in New Jersey have a variety of choices, including several that have been recognized for their high standards. These include both public and private colleges that have their own specialized schools of business along with a wide range of other academic programs. The majority of these colleges also offer advanced degrees in the business field.
  1. College of New Jersey

    • The College of New Jersey's School of Business offers Bachelor of Science degrees in its programs that include accounting and information systems, economics, finance and international business, and management, marketing and interdisciplinary business. The college was ranked 65th out of the 111 business schools who qualified for inclusion in the 2010 BusinessWeek Survey of Best Undergraduate Business Schools. Located in Ewing and on the border of Trenton, the College of New Jersey in 2007 established a business financial learning center that provides access to the same market data and technology available to professional traders. The college has seven different schools in all and more than 50 liberal arts and professional programs. It also offers 35 graduate degree programs.

    Rider University

    • Rider University, located near Trenton in central New Jersey, has a highly-respected College of Business Administration that has five separate departments and offers 12 majors for students who plan to pursue a career in business. Concentrations and minors are also offered through the business college, which offers professional organizations, clubs and honor societies for each of the majors. Advanced degrees include master's degrees in business administration and accountancy. Students also take part in internship and co-op programs that provide experience and training in the the business world.

      Other academic colleges at the university of approximately 6,000 students include liberal arts, education, sciences and continuing studies. The Westminster College of the Arts is also on the Rider campus in Lawrencecville.

    Georgian Court College

    • Georgian Court College School of Business, accredited by the Association of Collegiate Business Schools and Programs, offers both bachelor's and master's programs. Georgian Court has two colleges: The Women's College and the University College. The Women's College is located on the main campus in Lakewood, while the the University College is in Lakewood and other locations. Founded in 1908, the university offers more than 30 majors in all. The total enrollment is over 3,000 students, with approximately 1,000 at the graduate level. Students who excel in its school of business can apply early to take graduate business courses.

    Rowan University

    • Rowan University's Rohrer College of Business is accredited by The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. The business school offers a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration or accounting. Rowan University, which is located in the southwestern part of New Jersey, also offers a Master of Business Administration. The Rohrer College of Business' three main components are in-depth specialization, general education and business administration core curriculum. As of 2008, approximately 1,000 business students attend Rowan, including 75 percent that study at the university on a full-time basis. The Rohrer College of Business has 32 teachers that teach 86 percent of the classes. Adjunct professors also add extra expertise in other classes.
