List of New Jersey Nursing Colleges

Nursing colleges in the state of New Jersey prepare students with the necessary education to pursue a career in the field of nursing. In addition to associate degrees, which many two-year colleges offer, a number of four-year colleges in New Jersey also offer bachelor's and even master's degrees in nursing. Students in New Jersey can choose from either public or private colleges to enroll in a nursing program.
  1. Rutgers

    • The College of Nursing at Rutgers (rutgers.edu) offers a choice of ten nursing programs. Students taking nursing programs at Rutgers have the options of obtaining bachelor's degrees, master's degrees and post-doctorate degrees, as well as certificates. The College of Nursing has a history dating back over 50 years and has since reached many milestones, including the addition of a doctor of philosophy nursing program in 1989. The main campus of Rutgers is located in New Brunswick, with additional campuses in Camden and Newark.

    • The School of Nursing at The College of New Jersey (tcnj.edu) offers several choices for nursing degrees. Students taking nursing programs at TCNJ have the choices of earning bachelor's degrees, master's degrees and certificates. The student-to-faculty ratio in clinical courses is typically eight to one, and all faculty members advising nursing students are full-time. The College of New Jersey, founded in 1855, is located in Ewing.

    Seton Hall University

    • The College of Nursing at Seton Hall University (shu.edu) offers numerous options for nursing students, including undergraduate programs, R.N. programs, graduate programs and certificates. Nursing courses have been offered at Seton Hall since 1937, with a school of nursing officially founded in 1940. The college of Nursing at Seton Hall is located on a 58-acre campus in South Orange, New Jersey, just 14 miles from New York City.

    Saint Peter's College

    • The School of Nursing at Saint Peter's College (spc.edu) offers both undergraduate and graduate programs for nursing students. Saint Peter's is a private college, founded in 1872, and one of 28 Jesuit colleges and universities in the United States. The department of Nursing at Saint Peter's College is located on two campuses in New Jersey, which include the communities of Englewood Cliffs and Jersey City.
