Colby-Sawyer College is based in New London and offers a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center (DHMC), the only academic Medical Center in New Hampshire, looks upon the college's department of nursing as its own undergraduate course and is in partnership with Colby-Sawyer in order to teach medical professionals how to work well together. One of the benefits this brings to students is the opportunity to use the DHMC simulation lab, which helps them practice their skills in a lifelike situation.
Students taking the course will undertake experience as a nurse in a professional workplace starting from their sophomore year.
Rivier College is located in Nashua and offers two-year and four-year undergraduate courses, including a full-time baccalaureate degree, a part-time associate science degree and a bachelor's degree course for those who are already registered nurses. For those at a graduate level, the school also offers an MS Degree Program in nursing.
During their time at Rivier College, nursing students will undertake work experience at healthcare institutions across central New England areas and greater Boston. They will also be trained in a simulated laboratory.
Saint Anselm College is based in Manchester and offers a Bachelor of Science program for undergraduates new to the discipline as well as a similar course for registered nurses. It claims its students take "one of the most selective and respected nursing programs in New England," encouraging a humanistic approach to patients. More than 600 people apply for one of the 85 to 90 seats in the freshman class every year. The degree course offers training via simulation technology.
The University of New Hampshire is located in Durham and offers a Bachelor of Science in nursing as well as a Master of Science degree and a post-master's nurse practitioner certificate program. A direct entry Master of Science is also available, and registered nurses can attend the institution to take the baccalaureate course.
Eta Iota chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International, the second-largest nursing organization in the U.S., is based at the university.
