Austin Community College offers what the nursing department calls a "mobility track" degree for LVNs to obtain their RN licensure. The program lasts two years and awards an associate degree upon completion. According to the school's website, this program is designed for professionals who already work in the health care industry and work no more than 20 hours per week. Many of the courses are offered online or through other distance-learning formats. The nursing department requires all prospective students to attend an information session before submitting an application.
