    • North Central Texas College offers a 12-month vocational nursing (LVN) program through distance learning. All coursework is available online with the exception of clinical training that is performed on weekends. There are campuses located in Gainesville, Corinth, Bowie, and Graham. Courses include anatomy and physiology, health and illness nursing concepts and skills, pharmacology, maternal-neonatal nursing and pediatrics.

    • Columbus State Community College offers an online associate of applied science degree program in nursing that prepares students for the registered nurse (RN) examination administered by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN). Coursework includes health assessment, physiology, pharmacology, nursing skills and concepts, pathophysiology and microbiology.

    • The Chamberlain College of Nursing offers an online six-semester associate of science in nursing for prospective RNs. The majority of general education and theoretical nursing coursework is delivered in an online format with the exception of a four-day practical training session that must be completed on site in Columbus, Ohio.

    Western Governors University

    • Western Governors University offers an online bachelor of science degree program that is designed to prepare students for certification as a RN. Applicants must hold CPR certification and an undergraduate degree and/or prerequisite coursework in liberal arts and science, including anatomy and physiology, biochemistry and microbiology. All coursework is available through online distance education with the exception of clinical training that is performed in a professional setting. Clinical opportunities are currently available in hospitals in Southern California, Texas and Utah, with future plans to expand into additional states.
