Accelerated LPN to RN Programs

Becoming a nurse requires intensive study and training. Licensed practical nurses (LPN) will typically attend community, technical or vocational colleges for about a year. Registered nurses (RN) may attend similar colleges or a four year institution. RN programs can be two or four years and result in an associate or bachelor’s degree. Registered nurses have more education and training and will make more money than LPNs. Licensed nurses can become RNs by attending one of the accelerated LPN to RN programs.
  1. Mohave Community College

    • Mohave Community College has an accelerated nursing program which helps LPNs become RNs in just two semesters. If the applicant has not worked as an LPN for more than four years, he will need to take a nursing refresher course prior to admission. Prerequisites include English, anatomy and physiology, math, psychology and lifespan development. Nursing curriculum coursework includes nursing therapeutics, nutrition, pharmacology, critical thinking, psychosocial nursing and acute health issues. Program graduates receive an Associate in Applied Science degree.
