The Long Island College Hospital School of Nursing opened in 1883 and has educated prospective registered nurses ever since from its urban campus in Brooklyn, New York. The college offers both a 2-year, traditional daylight nursing associate degree program, and a 3-year evening-based course of study. Classes for both programs begin once per year in August. Students in both programs complete courses in a variety of subjects, including psychology, pharmacology, writing, nursing for patients with chronic conditions, psychiatric nursing, life-span development, obstetrics, family health and moral values in nursing. Federal and state grant and loan programs are available for eligible students.

Students must complete a number of prerequisite classes prior to applying for admission, including writing, anatomy, physiology and microbiology.
