Highline Community College has a registered nursing program that has an option for students who are currently licensed as practical nurses. Students who complete this program earn an Associate of Applied Science degree within two years of study on a full-time schedule. Students who pursue the LPN to RN option can complete the program in one year on a full-time schedule. Courses include core concepts in nursing, pharmacology in nursing, issues and trends and community-based nursing.

Washington State University has an RN to BSN degree program that is designed for registered nurses who wish to further their education with a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing. This program is completed in an online, distance-learning format and includes nine theory courses in addition to the clinical practicum requirement. Courses include professional nursing concepts and issues, nursing leadership, psychiatric and mental health concepts, nursing management and analysis of health care ethics.

Lake Washington Technical College has an Associate of Applied Science degree program that prepares students to become registered nurses. Aside from the time it takes to complete the prerequisites, students can expect the finish this program in six quarters on a full-time schedule over the course of two years.
