Tarrant County College (TCC) is a large, state community college in Texas, with five campuses in the Dallas/Fort Worth metro area. TCC's Arlington campus offers an LPN to RN program called the Fast Track Option. Through examinations, LPNs with a current license can reduce the duration of their studies from 24 months to 18 months for an associate's degree in nursing. Panola College attracts students from many areas of Texas and Louisiana. The LVN to RN Transition Option offers LPNs who hold a valid license to take the challenge procedure, which will enable applicants to receive credit for two courses. The challenge procedure is both a theory and a practical exam and will result in a letter grade for two courses. The LVN to RN Transition Option culminates in an associate degree in nursing.

El Centro College is an urban school that offers associate and vocational degrees. While El Centro College's campus is in Dallas, it is less than 20 miles from downtown Arlington and offers students an easy commute. El Centro's LPN to RN nursing program, called the LVN/RN Advanced Placement option, allows eligible students to complete an LVN to RN bridge course. Upon successful completion of this course, Advanced Placement students enter the third semester of the associate's degree in nursing program, with two semesters remaining before graduation.
