    • The university's College of Dentistry is located in downtown Memphis. The college, which focuses on providing professional, graduate and postgraduate education, equips students by teaching them state-of-the-art patient care and public service. The Commission of Dental Accreditation accredits the school, enabling qualified graduates to apply for all state and regional board examinations in the United States. The dentistry program lasts four years, including nine months of study for the first two years and eleven months for the last two clinical years. The college admits one class per year beginning in August and requires a personal interview of the student applicant before acceptance. Financial aid like loans, scholarships and federal work study is available.

    Meharry Medical College's School of Dentistry

    • Meharry Medical College's School of Dentistry in Nashville, which grants the Doctor of Dental Surgery degree after four years of study, is committed to providing quality care to underserved communities. Meharry Medical College also offers postdoctoral residencies in general dentistry and oral and maxillofacial dentistry. Its school of dentistry, which accepts about 50 students per year, is a member of the American Dental Education Association and is fully accredited by the American Dental Association's Commission on Dental Accreditation.

    Remington College (Nashville Campus)

    • Remington College has campuses in major cities around the country and grants degree and diploma programs focused on career-based technical training. This college offers two dental programs in dental assisting and dental hygiene. The Dental Assisting Diploma Program, which has eight modules and is available on six campuses, provides student training for entry-level positions as dental assistant. The program includes training in oral anatomy and oral radiology, and students can complete the program in as little as eight months. The school's associate degree in dental hygiene can be completed in 24 months and is offered on the Nashville campus. The program focuses on training students in oral health; hygiene; nutrition basics; dental hygiene instrumentation skills; and head, neck and dental anatomy.
