The Dental Institute at King's College in London offers a five year Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree. The program is comprised of three constituents, and the first three years of the program provide students with necessary foundations in biomedical and dental science. Courses include epidemiology, pathology and microbiology. The second component of the degree involves rigorous coursework in the assessment, prevention and management of oral and dental diseases. Both programs are taught in state-of-the-art dental school facilities, provide rigorous academic curriculum and incorporate hands-on training in clinical placements. Students learn the fundamentals of dental science and the skills and techniques of dental care and apply these throughout the program in patient care. The accelerated degree program is generally available to prospective students with a minimum of an upper second-class honours degree in a relevant field with a significant concentration in chemistry or biology. The five year program is available to all prospective students with no previous post-secondary experience.

The Master of Science degrees are one full year in length, throughout which students gain a broad-spectrum professional education. The two-year Mastership in Clinical Dentistry programs are designed to provide students with specialty training.
