Located in downtown Orlando, Orlando Tech offers classes in dental assisting with an emphasis on hands-on training. Part of the Orlando public school system, Orlando Tech is accredited by the American Dental Association Commission on Accreditation and its courses cover subjects such as dental anatomy, oral pathology and clinical assisting to prepare its graduates for careers in the dental industry. In cooperation with the Dental Society of Greater Orlando, Orlando Tech can help with placement after you have finished. The course is 10 months in length and is split into two semesters taken Monday through Friday.

The High-Tech Institute, with a campus located in Orlando, offers both a diploma and an associate degree in dental assisting that prepares students for entry-level jobs in the dental industry. With basic courses covering a wide variety of dental-related subjects, the High-Tech Institute includes an externship that gives its students real-world experience assisting a dentist out in the field. Subjects include study of the anatomy and physiology associated with dental work as well as CPR, injections and the preparation of patients for specialty exams.

With an emphasis on expanded roles of the dental assistant field, Central Florida Institute offers courses that cover the basics as well as basic knowledge of radiology and its aspects as seen in a dentist office. Some of the aspects covered in these courses include planning and charting of dental procedures, the removal of dental sutures and the placement of retainers on patients. Central Florida Institute can prepare you for a career in one of the many dental disciplines, including general practices and specialty dentist offices that cover endodontics, cosmetic dentistry and oral surgery. Active career placement is available to all graduates to help them find local jobs in their area.
