Birkbeck teaches aspiring authors how to write in a number of different genres, including children's literature, poetry, memoirs and more. Many of Birkbeck's professors are professional authors themselves, and have been published in the past. These professors will give lectures and tutorials, while also leading the classes through creative exercises. But you'll also get a hands-on approach at Birkbeck, because classes provide student readings, class workshops and small group workshops to provide young writers with the feedback they need to hone their craft.
