  1. Case School of Dental Medicine

    • Founded in 1892, the Case School of Dental Medicine is one of the oldest dental schools in the nation. The institution offers five specialty training programs, including those in endodontics, orthodontics, periodontics, pediatrics and oral and maxillofacial surgeries. It also offers DMD and dual degree programs to eligible students. The DMD program awards students with a doctor of dental medicine degree upon completion of the four-year course. The dual program is a five-year degree program that integrates primary healthcare into the general dentistry practice. In addition to undergraduate programs, the school also offers graduate studies in the fields of Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD), endodotics, oral surgery, orthodontics, periodontics and pediatric dentistry.     The Ohio State University College of Dentistry

    • The College of Dentistry at Ohio State University is the third largest dental school in the country, and is best known for its Doctor of Dental Surgery program. Under this program, students are trained in eight areas of dental specialties including oral biology, oral surgery, endodontics, pediatric dentistry, orthodontics, periodontology, primary dental care, and restorative and prosthetic dentistry. The university also offers advanced training programs in the following areas: anesthesiology, general practice residency, endodontics, oral pathology, oral surgery, orthodontics, periodontology, pediatric dentistry and prosthetic dentistry. These programs usually take between 12 and 48 months to complete. The university also offers postgraduate programs for students who want to earn a master's degree in dentistry or a PhD in oral biology. The school also offers continuing education programs for dental professionals, which are available both on campus and online.

    Toledo Dental Academy

    • The Toledo Dental Academy offers accelerated hands-on training programs for people who want to work as dental assistants. Located in the city of Toledo, the academy offers flexible day and evening classes. The morning programs typically run between 12 and 16 weeks and are followed by a 90-hour externship, where students work in actual dental clinics and labs.
