    • The University of Florida College of Dentistry was established in 1972, with 24 dental students in the first class. The college now offers 16 degree and certificate programs and has a class of approximately 80 students per year enter the Doctor of Dental Medicine program. According to the University of Florida College of Dentistry, the Doctor of Dental Medicine program has been given an accreditation status by the Commission on Dental Accreditation of "approval without reporting requirements."

    Ohio State University College of Dentistry

    • The Ohio State University College of Dentistry boasts the third largest public dental school in the United States. The college has eight academic units representing the major dental specialties, including endodontics, oral surgery, orthodontics and pediatric dentistry. The college offers on-campus dental clinics and a community outreach program where dental students can put into practice classroom skills as they serve the community. The college offers dental research in the oral biology academic section. Much of the financial support for research is through National Institutes of Health and the National Science Foundation.

    Indiana University School of Dentistry

    • The Indiana University School of Dentistry located on the campus of Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis was first established in 1879 as the Indiana Dental College. The school became part of Indiana University in 1925. The Indiana University School of Dentistry is the only dental school in the state of Indiana. The school has more than 100 full-time faculty as well as 100 individuals serving in various roles as adjunct faculty, volunteer teachers or unpaid consultants. The school has on-site clinical facilities within the dental school building.

    University of Iowa College of Dentistry

    • The University of Iowa College of Dentistry has provided dental education for more than 125 years. The college has more than 90 full-time faculty and in excess of 300 students. According to the college, it is the only dental school in the United States to offer advanced programs in all dental specialties as well as a hospital dentistry residency. The College of Dentistry boasts 23 community outreach programs that provide services to more than 90 counties.
