King's College London Dental Institute is the largest dental academic center in the United Kingdom, according to the London Schools education directory. The college offers a dental hygiene and therapy diploma, bachelor of science degrees, clinical and non-clinical master's and doctorate degrees. Twenty-five percent of all dentists in the United Kingdom are trained at King's College, as of 2010. Online training and distance learning is available to postgraduates, and provides continuing education to dentists in more than 40 countries. Primary courses include dental hygiene, endodontics, oral medicine, implants, maxillofacial and craniofacial technology, orthodontics, pediatric dentistry, periodontology, prosthetics and surgical dentistry.

The UCL Eastman Dental Institute is the largest postgraduate dental academic center in Europe and offers certificates, bachelor's and master's degrees in dentistry. Dental professionals receive continuing education and training through three clinical divisions in advanced dental sciences. The institute partners with Eastman Dental Hospital to provide treatment, research, postgraduate teaching and training in its outpatient facility. Major courses offered include clinical dentistry, endodontics, orthodontics, pediatric dentistry, periodontology and prosthodontics.

Barts and the London School of Medicine and Dentistry, also known as Queen Mary's School of Medicine and Dentistry, is one of the United Kingdom's top-5 research institutions, according to the 2008 Research Assessment Exercise.
