Among the best veterinary medicine institutions in the country is less than 15 miles from sprawling San Bernardino County's western edge. California Polytechnic University, or Cal Poly Pomona as it is more commonly known, has an Animal Science school that has produced a plethora of veterinary professionals, from agricultural commissioners to zookeepers to veterinarians.
