The LPN to RN accelerated program at National Park Community College provides students with three options for a spring or summer entry. For each option, students must fulfill 30 to 31 credit hours of general education requirements, as well as 60 to 61 credits toward their nursing degree. Courses in nursing include clinical practice, anatomy and physiology, psychology, acute care and long-term care. The college is a comprehensive two-year institution accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. Prospective students may enroll in the program on either a full-time or a part-time basis; day and evening courses are available for all three program options.

LPNs and licensed psychiatric technician nurses (LPTNs) can complete the RN fast-track certification program at Southeast Arkansas College by satisfying the minimum course work prerequisites for taking the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN). Applicants to the fast-track program must have graduated from a state-board-approved LPN program. Also necessary for admission is fulfillment of the general education requirements applicable to all Southeast Arkansas College students. They must submit a transcript and complete an entrance interview. Moreover, they must submit a health clearance, furnish PPD chest X-ray results, produce CPR certification and pass a criminal background check.

The deadline to apply to Southern Arkansas University's LPN to RN fast-track program is Feb. 28. Applicants must have graduated from a state-approved LPN-granting institution with a minimum grade point average of 2.5 in all of their nursing course work. An employment verification letter is also required as a part of the admission application. Applicants are admitted conditionally. Upon entering the program, students are required to travel to various clinical sites as a part of their practical training. It is possible to complete the program within three semesters. In addition to fulfilling 31 hours of general education courses, students receive instruction in anatomy and physiology, gerontology, general psychology and pharmacology.
