Grants for Latino Students

Thanks to the generosity of charitable organizations, private donors, nonprofit organizations and corporations, finding scholarships and grants is becoming increasingly easy. A quick Internet search generates several thousand scholarship funds to choose from.

In recent years, due to the accessibility of funds, more and more minorities have the opportunity to break through societal barriers and finish their college degrees. There are many scholarship and grant resources for Latino students.
  1. HSF/General College Scholarship

    • The Hispanic Scholarship Fund General College Scholarship is offered by the Hispanic Scholarship Fund to students with a high degree of academic accomplishment. To qualify, you must be of Hispanic descent, have a grade point average of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, be U.S. citizen and have plans to enroll full-time in an accredited college or university. The award amount is between $1,000 and $5,000.

    HSF/ ALPFA Scholarship

    • This scholarship is offered by ALPFA (the Association of Latino Professionals in Finance and Accounting), in partnership with the Hispanic Scholarship Fund to outstanding Latino students. To qualify, you must be a U.S. citizen, have at least a 3.0 grade point average on a 4.0 scale, be of Latino heritage, be enrolled full-time in an accredited college or university, be entering as either a sophomore, junior or senior in an undergraduate or graduate program, and be majoring in accounting, business administration, economics or finance. The award amount is between $1,250 and $10,000.

    HSF/AT&T Foundation Scholarship

    • This scholarship is offered by the AT&T Foundation in partnership with the Hispanic Scholarship Fund to a deserving high school senior or freshman in college. To qualify, you must be a U.S. citizen of Hispanic heritage, be enrolled full-time in an accredited college or university, be the child of an AT&T employee, be under the age of 25 and have a grade point average of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. The award amount is between $1,500 and $2,500.

    HSF/ExxonMobil Scholarship

    • This scholarship is offered by ExxonMobil in partnership with the Hispanic Scholarship Fund to academically gifted Latino students. To qualify, you must be a U.S. citizen of Hispanic origin, have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, be a sophomore, junior or senior at one of the participating colleges or universities, and be majoring in engineering. The award amount is $2,500.
