Grants for Latino Women

At colleges and universities in the United States, the percentage of Hispanic students enrolled in classes has remained proportionately low for decades. However, this trend is starting to change as the Hispanic population in the U.S. increases. Hispanic women have many grant and scholarship opportunities as they qualify for two sets of minority categories. There are plenty of grant programs designed either for women or for Hispanics, and fortunately Hispanic women benefit from both.
  1. Hispanic Scholarship Fund

    • The Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF) provides more grant and scholarship opportunities for Latinos than any other organization in the nation. Founded in 1975, the HSF has awarded over $300 million in financial aid to over 100,000 students as of 2010. There are literally hundreds of available scholarships given out by the HSF every year. HSF provides tuition assistance to Latino high school graduates, community college students who wish to transfer to four-year universities, currently enrolled undergraduates and Latino students in graduate or professional programs. To be eligible you must have a minimum 3.0 grade point average, be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident, apply for FAFSA and plan to enroll full-time while pursuing your first undergraduate or graduate degree.
