The Hispanic Scholarship Fund, together with the Monsanto Co., offers scholarship money to Hispanic women majoring in science through the HSF/Monsanto Fund Scholarship Program. This one-year scholarship is for $10,000 and may be renewable as long as a student continues to be eligible. In addition to being of Hispanic origin, a candidate must be a citizen or legal resident of the United States, must be carrying a grade point average of at least 3.0, must be a sophomore, and must be majoring in an appropriate branch of science or engineering. The Hispanic College Fund makes a variety of scholarships available to Hispanic women through its scholarships for science and technology majors. To be eligible for HCF STEM Majors Scholarships, a student must be of Hispanic origin, must be a resident of the United States or Puerto Rico, must have a grade point average of at least 3.0 and must be a full-time undergraduate. These awards range from $500 to $10,000. The annual deadline for application is Feb. 23. Interested students should visit the HCF website to fill out an electronic application.

Another scholarship available to Hispanic women majoring in science through the Hispanic Scholarship Fund is the HSF/ Procter & Gamble Company Scholarship. This one-time scholarship is for $2,500. To be eligible, a student must be of Hispanic origin, must be a citizen or permanent resident of the United States, must have a GPA of 3.0 or above, and must be attending an American institution full-time in the upcoming academic year. In addition, eligible students must currently reside in Los Angeles, Chicago or Miami, or in the states of Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, New York, North Carolina, Ohio or Texas. The annual deadline for application is Feb. 28.
