The Google Anita Borg Memorial Scholarship is given to female high school seniors enrolled in or accepted as a full-time student at a university in the U.S. International students can apply as long as they attend university in the U.S. The applicant must major in computer science and demonstrate a passion for this field. Recipients of the scholarship receive a $10,000 award after enrolling in a university with a computer science department and taking at least one computer science course in her first year. An applicant must complete an online application and provide complete transcripts along with two letters of reference, three essays and answers to three short answer questions.

The guidelines for The Vanguard Women in Information Technology Scholarship Program say that the scholarship "provides merit-based scholarships of up to $8,000 to female students entering their senior year of college who are majoring in computer science." It's offered annually to female students enrolled at accredited four-year colleges. To qualify, recipients must have a cumulative 3.0 grade point average on a 4.0 scale, and must be U.S. citizens or lawful permanent residents and be majoring in computer science. This scholarship is offered on a one-time basis. Ten awards are given each year. The scholarship can be used at any accredited college of the recipient's choice.

This Microsoft Research Scholarship supports women in their second year of graduate studies majoring in computer science. Interested applicants must apply during their first year of graduate school. Nominees must be selected by their colleges. Direct applications are not accepted. A scholarship of $15,000 is awarded to the recipient with a $2,000 travel allowance to attend a conference in her field of study. This scholarship is offered on a one-time basis and is paid directly to the college the student attends.
