Scholarships for Pakistani Women

Paying for college is a major challenge for many aspiring students. If you look hard enough, though, there are almost always some funds out there to assist you. One form of student assistance that won't require you to pay it back is a scholarship. There are several scholarships especially designed to assist female Pakistani students.
  1. Benazir Bhutto Scholarship

    • The Benazir Bhutto Scholarship is a tribute to the former Pakistani prime minister of the same name, who was assassinated in 2007 by a suicide bomber. The scholarship is offered by London Metropolitan University and is for female students living in Pakistan who are seeking a master's degree from that university. It will cover all of the tuition and is applicable for any subject of study. The scholarship is offered by the university in a partnership with Bhutto's family to assist "outstanding Pakistani women."

    Fulbright Scholarship

    • According to the United States Education Foundation in Pakistan, the Pakistan branch of the Fulbright program is the biggest in the world. In the year 2011, they will offer around 200 different scholarships for postgraduate students including those obtaining master degrees and PhDs. The Fulbright Scholarship not only pays for your tuition, but your books as well. You must be a full-time resident of Pakistan to qualify. Applicants must take the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) and score a minimum of 300 on every subject of the test. This organization seeks applications from people who might not have the opportunity to get a good education otherwise.

    Noon Scholarship

    • The Noon Educational Foundation Scholarship is for Pakistani students seeking an undergraduate education in the United Kingdom. The foundation was established in 1992 by Lady Viqarunnissa Noon to support Scholars from Pakistan. In addition to the proper application forms, applicants must submit a 200-word essay detailing how they intend to put their education to work for Pakistan. The foundation offers both full and partial scholarships. They base their selection on academic merit, financial need, and the applicants' potential for success.
