The Microsoft Research Graduate Women's Scholarship is designed to increase the number of women graduate students who go on to seek doctoral degrees. The program is open to women in their first year of a graduate program in computer science, electrical engineering or mathematics. Qualifying students receive a $15,000 scholarship award as well as a $2,000 travel stipend to be used towards attendance at a professional conference in their field. All students must be nominated by their university and be recommended by the chair of their department.

The Ethel Louise Armstrong Foundation sponsors scholarships for graduate women students with physical disabilities. Applicants must be enrolled in an accredited degree program at the master's level or higher and be current members of the American Association of People with Disabilities. Awards are granted on the basis of academic achievement, leadership skills and involvement in disability-related activities. Individual award amounts vary.

The Association for Women Geoscientists sponsors the Chrysalis Scholarship for women pursuing graduate studies in geoscience. The award is intended for those students who are returning to graduate study after an extended absence due to raising children or other circumstances. The $2,000 award is presented to students who demonstrate academic achievement and the potential to contribute to the geoscience field.
