According to a press release, the Talbots Charitable Foundation awards college scholarships to graduating high-school seniors every year "in the communities where Talbots has a corporate presence." However, these scholarships cannot be applied for, and are simply distributed by local high schools. According to the Talbots website, Talbots has corporate offices in Hingham, Massachusetts; Lakeville, Massachusetts; New York, New York; Knoxville, Tennessee; and Tampa, Florida. Students attending high school in these cities may be eligible for a scholarship from Talbots, and should express interest to their guidance counselor or another school official.
The Talbots Women's Scholarship Foundation awards several Nancy Talbot Scholarship Awards of varying amounts to college women in the United States. These scholarships are for women who are returning to college, and for whom at least 10 years has passed since they received a high-school diploma or GED. In addition, students must have at least 24 credit-hours remaining to complete in their program of study, and must be undergraduates. Students pursuing both two-year and four-year degrees are eligible. Several scholarships are awarded in the amount of $15,000, as is one $30,000 scholarship. The Talbots Women's Scholarship Foundation accepts applications from October through January. Prospective applicants should visit the Talbots website for more information.

The third category of college scholarship awarded by the Talbots Charitable Foundation is the Associate Award of Excellence. These awards are presented annually to children of Talbots employees. However, the children of executives or directors at Talbots are not eligible for these scholarships. In order for their children to be eligible for Awards of Excellence, employees must have been working for Talbots for at least one full year. Children of Talbots employees must be graduating high-school seniors or enrolled in undergraduate programs, and must be attending school full time for the upcoming academic year. Several scholarships of $2,000 and one scholarship of $5,000 are awarded every year. Adopted and stepchildren are eligible.
