Grants for Women in Engineering

Many women are pursuing engineering majors, but the costs of tuition can be expensive. There are many resources available that assist women with grants to help pay for college expenses. Some of the criteria for these grants is as simple as submitting an application. In addition, many grants have stipulations, such as applicants may be required to maintain a certain GPA while enrolled in college. Women also should check with the financial aid office at their college or university and inquire about grant opportunities available to them.

Individuals who are chosen are also given the opportunity to attend a retreat sponsored by Google that offers workshops, speakers and other social activities. Applicants who are chosen must spend the funds on tuition, fees, books, supplies and other expenses related to classes at their college or university. The application deadline period is Feb. 1, and applicants may apply online.
