Linda Lael Miller Scholarships for Women are designed specifically for women who are non-traditional-age students who want to get an education but lack the finances to do so. Applicants can be looking to attend any college, but they must be over the age of 25, fill out the scholarship application and include a 500-word essay. Applicants should include their reason for applying, what the scholarship money is going to be used for and even the specific dollar amount being requested. In 2010, a total of $15,000 worth of scholarships were awarded.

The AAUW is one of the most vocal organizations in providing grants and scholarships for women to attend college. As of 2008, the AAUW has awarded over $4.5 million in grants and fellowships for women to go to college and even continue on to post-collegiate research.

Jeannette Rankin Women's Scholarships are aimed at low-income women over the age of 35 who want to get an education. These grants are set for $2,000 each as of 2010, and don't have to be used on tuition---they can be applied to any of the expenses that go with a college education. The mission statement of this scholarship states the belief that everyone benefits from older women going to get an education to improve themselves, their families and the entire community.
