Photography Grants for Women

With the advent of digital technology, artistic photography has become more accessible, more in demand and yet more complex. Not only is the professional training needed expensive, but after graduation, launching a career can be even more of a challenge. Happily, there are funding grants and competitions offering prize money available to photographers to offset the expenses. A small number of these grants and contests are offered exclusively to women, but many are open to all.
  1. Women in Photography

    • Women in Photography, or WIPNYC, is an Internet-based outlet for women photographers who wish to show their work in a non-traditional setting and to a global community. Each year, WIPNYC offers grants to female photographers over 18 years of age who are not currently enrolled in a degree program of any kind. Only on line submissions are accepted. Applicants must submit five images, no more, no less. There is a submission fee. (Reference 1)
