Grad School Grants for Hispanic Women

Hispanic women are prioritized for scholarships and grants for graduate school by organizations who wish to see more Hispanic women pursue careers in science, technology, engineering, math and business. These awards provide financial support for traditionally underrepresented groups of women who have already demonstrated success during undergraduate education and wish to pursue a master's or other post-baccalaureate degree.
  1. La Unidad Latina Foundation

    • Grants and scholarships from this foundation reach up to $1,000 for Hispanic students pursuing graduate degrees of nearly any kind. To apply, students must submit official transcripts (both undergraduate and graduate, if applicable) and a letter of recommendation that demonstrates the student's affinity for leadership and civic service. These awards are unique in that only students with a GPA (Grade Point Average) above 2.80 and below 3.60 are eligible.

    AT&T Labs Fellowship

    • Applications for this fellowship are limited to women and members of Hispanic or other ethnic minority groups who are enrolled or planning to enroll in graduate school for computer science, math, statistics, operations research or engineering. The fellowship covers full tuition for the duration of the graduate program. Applicants must submit letters of reference, a personal statement, official transcripts, an essay and GRE (Graduate Record Examination) scores to be considered for the award.

    American Association of University Women Educational Foundation

    • Available for Hispanic and other minority women pursuing graduate school in either business, law or medicine, this organization awards fellowships ranging between $5,000 and $12,000. To receive this award, applicants must submit official transcripts from all college-level work, letters of recommendation and complete the online application. Prospective law students must provide a legal sample in the application.

    Judith McManus Price Scholarship

    • For Hispanic women interested in pursuing a career in public planning, the American Planning Association provides an award of $2,000 to $4,000 for graduate school. Requirements include financial need, enrollment or acceptance into a program accredited by the Planning Accreditation Board, and Hispanic or other minority background. Previous recipients are allowed to re-enter. To apply, applicants must submit a personal statement, financial aid application, letters of recommendation, official transcripts and verification of school costs.

    Merrill Lynch MBA Fellowship

    • This fellowship is an opportunity for Hispanic women who are interested in financial services to receive a full tuition grant for graduate business school at one of the following universities: University of Chicago, Columbia University, University of Virginia, Harvard University, Northwestern University, New York University or University of Pennsylvania. Recipients of the fellowship participate in a paid summer associate position at Merrill Lynch and must submit a resume, essay and letters of recommendation to be considered for the award.
