Grants for Hispanic Graduate Students

Hispanic students have many opportunities for obtaining funding for graduate school. Different foundations offer scholarships to promote educational and career choices for Hispanic people. Depending on the field of interest, Hispanic students have options for graduate school grants and other types of funding from several different resources.
  1. The Goizueta Foundation Graduate Scholars Fund Assistantship

    • The Goizueta scholars fund was established to promote the skills and education of Latino and Hispanic graduate students and people committed to working with the Latino community. The assistantship consists of a total stipend of $12,000 for graduate students working with the University of Georgia Center for Latino Achievement and Success in Education, for one year, which may be renewed at the end of the year. Students must have some expertise in Latino education or be a person intending to do research toward the development of Latino and Hispanic people.

    Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation

    • The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation is a private organization that designates funding for minority students. Voted one of the most philanthropic foundations in the United States, they offer many scholarships opportunities for Hispanic students and other minority students from around the United States. Graduate students considering going into law are eligible for the Gates Public Service Law scholarships. They also have scholarships for Hispanic graduate students interested in doing research abroad, called the Gates Cambridge Scholarship.

    Hispanic Scholarship Fund

    • One of the largest sources of funding for Hispanic students is through the Hispanic Scholarship Fund. They are dedicated to helping promote Hispanic and Latino students in many educational areas and are adept at connecting students to grants and other funding opportunities.

      One grant offered through the Hispanic Scholarship Fund is the McNamara Family Foundation Creative Arts Project Grant awarded to graduate students enrolled in a creative arts field. The grant is to assist students working toward completing an art project, and the award is for $15,000.
