The Hispanic Scholarship Fund has awarded approximately $280 million in academic outreach funding, primarily to first-generation college students, since its inception in 1975. Applicants choose from four scholarship programs according to their statuses: undergraduate or graduate students; community college transfer students; prospective undergraduate students; and Gates Millennium Scholars. Students fill out an academic profile online and supplement their application with an official high school or transcript, two letters of recommendation and a Student Aid Report. Eligible applicants must maintain at least a 3.0 cumulative grade point average in pursuit of their primary undergraduate or graduate degrees.
