Scholarships for Catholic Colleges

Planning for college can be an anxiety-ridden task, especially when prospective students and their families wonder how they'll pay for tuition, books, fees and campus housing. Many scholarships, however, exist for students who are affiliated with certain churches or Christian denominations. Several Catholic organizations award scholarships to their members or members' children to help defray the costs of attending a Catholic college or university. Some Catholic organizations also award scholarships to those who attend a non-Catholic school.
  1. Fourth Degree Pro Deo and Pro Patria Scholarships

    • Each year, the Knights of Columbus awards 50 Fourth Degree Pro Deo and Pro Patria (For God and For Country) scholarships to Catholic students in the United States. The renewable scholarships are $1,500 each. To be eligible, you must plan to attend a Catholic college or university, and be a member or son or daughter of a Knight. If you belong to the Columbian Squires, a program within the Knights of Columbus, you are eligible to apply also. Twelve Pro Deo and Pro Patria scholarships go to students who plan to attend the Catholic University of America, in Washington, DC.
