Scholarships for Catholic Women

Catholic women who are in search of scholarships can be relieved to find a number of options. Religious associations and societies reserve monetary awards for female students who are of Catholic background. The scholarships are not limited to women pursuing careers in ministry. These awards are granted to students at the postsecondary and postgraduate levels.
  1. Catholic Aid Association

    • Catholic women who wish to obtain the Catholic Aid Association Scholarship must meet the criteria to apply. According to the Scholarships websites, applicants have to be a member of the association for at least two years and be entering postsecondary education. The maximum dollar amount of the award scholarship is $500.

    Knights of Columbus Scholarships

    • Women entering a Catholic postsecondary institution in the United States may be eligible for a scholarship from the Knights of Columbus. Scholarships says the Knights of Columbus' Pro Deo & Pro Patria scholarships are available to members or the daughters of members of the society or of the Colombian Squires. These scholarships are granted to students entering the first year of an undergraduate bachelor's degree program. The maximum award is $1,500.

    Catholic Theological Union Scholarships

    • The Catholic Theological Union lists an array of scholarships that would be of interest to Catholic women. The union provides the McAuley Scholarship fund to women who are studying for ministry in the United States. The Stuhlmueller Scholarship Fund gives preference to international women interested in biblical spirituality. This organization also provides women from developing countries the International Women's Scholarship Fund. This fund is geared toward women who are interested in joining ministries in their home countries.

    Father Leonard Bachmann Graduate Scholarship

    • The Catholic Daughters of the Americas provides the Father Leonard Bachmann Graduate Scholarship to individuals who are pursuing a graduate-level education and have completed an undergraduate program. According to the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, students are required to be of the Catholic faith and a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas Association. One $3,000 award and one $1,000 award are available.
