The Irma Sue Macy "L'Dor V'Dor" Endowed Scholarship for Jewish Women comes from a gift of $600,000 left by the late Irma Sue Macy, a philanthropist, artist, and cartographer. The scholarship is available to Jewish undergraduate and graduate students undertaking full-time study at Maryville University, in the Town and Country suburb of St. Louis. Awards of $5000 each are available for undergraduates, and gifts of $10,000 each are set aside for graduate scholarships. The award is renewable annually, provided that recipients remain in good academic standing.
Young Jewish women who attend high school in Bergen County, New Jersey, qualify to apply for the scholarship awarded by the National Council of Jewish Women, Bergen County section. The scholarship is for three awards of $1000 annually, and applicants must already be accepted to a four-year college. Applicants must also be involved in community projects and high school extracurricular activities and must be able to demonstrate a financial need for the award.
