The Federation Executive Recruitment and Education Program (FEREP) provides scholarships to Jewish men applying to graduate school. The Jewish Federations of North American funds this program. The scholarship offers up to $40,000 for two years to applicants pursing three types of graduate degrees: master's in social work (MSW), master's in public administration (MPA) and master's in business administration (MBA). The MBA must be for work in a nonprofit field. In addition, applicants need to enroll in Jewish studies classes. Scholarship recipients also are required to work for the Jewish Federation in North America for two years. Applications are due in February of each year.
Jewish men interested in studying at Yeshiva University in New York City can apply for the Yeshiva Masmidim Honors program. Students in this program will receive strong academic and Talmud instruction. Applicants are eligible for a scholarship that will fully fund their tuition.
The Dorot Foundation provides fellowships geared toward creating leaders in the Jewish community. The fellowship provides up to $25,000 for Jewish men to live and learn in Israel for a year. The money also funds travel to and from Israel. Applicants must be 22 to 29 years old. They also must plan to live in the United States upon completion of the program. Applications are due in March for travel that begins in July.
The JCCs of North America offer a scholarship for Jewish men to pursue graduate studies. This scholarship awards $10,000 per year for up to two years of school. Successful applicants will be committed to working in the JCC Movement post graduation. Recipients of this scholarship must also work for the JCC while they attend school. The JCC will then aid the recipient with job placements after graduation. Applications are due in February of each year.
