The Southern Regional Education Board offers a doctoral award called the Three-to-Five-Year Package. Qualified applicants must be admitted to or currently in the first year of their Ph.D. program at a participating member school. Applicants must be a racial or ethnic minority, which includes but is not limited to those of African American, Asian, Hispanic and Native American descent.
Scholarship recipients receive an annual sum of $15,000 to $20,000 and up to five years of tuition and fees at their university. The Southern Regional Education Board scholarship also offers professional development resources for recipients and attendance at the Compact for Faculty Diversity Institute on Teaching and Mentoring.

The National Black MBA Association (NBMBAA) has an annual Ph.D. Fellowship Program for minority students who are currently enrolled in doctoral programs related to business or management fields of study.
Applicants must supply an original essay based on a topic of the program's choosing, school transcript and current resume. Recipients are also judged on their community involvement, communication skills and leadership potential.
Multiple scholarship awards are given every year in amounts ranging from $2,500 to $10,000. Recipients also receive a NBMBAA membership and selected fellowship winners will be given transportation and accommodations to attend the organization's annual conference.
As a condition of receipt, scholarship winners may be asked to participate in local chapter events, public relations events and/or scholarship advisory committees.

Students working toward their Ph.D. in computer science and/or computer engineering are eligible for the Google Scholarship Program via the Hispanic College Fund. The scholarship awards recipients $10,000; some winners will also be given a trip to the Google corporate headquarters.
Scholarship applications should include transcripts, proof of family income and proof of U.S. citizenship. Other requirements include an essay, letter of recommendation and financial aid verification.
