Minority Nurse Magazine offers scholarships to nursing students who are enrolled in a bachelors degree program at an accredited college or university and belong to a racial or ethnic minority group. Applicants must be in their junior or senior year of an undergraduate program and possess a minimum 3.0 GPA to be considered. Awards range from $1,000 to $3,000 and scholarships are granted on the basis of academic merit, service to the community and financial need.

The National Coalition of Ethnic Minority Nurse Associations (NCEMNA) offers $1,500 scholarships to ethnic minority nursing students who have an interest in eliminating health care disparities. Applicants must be current members of their local NCEMNA chapter to be nominated for the scholarship award. Individuals must be pursuing a four-year nursing degree at an accredited college or university and demonstrate academic achievement as well as a leadership role in the ethnic community.

The Justine E. Granner Memorial Scholarship is available to ethnic minority students who are pursuing degrees in nursing, public health or related fields at colleges or universities in the state of Iowa. To qualify for the $1,000 scholarship, applicants must have a 3.0 GPA or better, demonstrate financial need and be recommended by their pastor, a school adviser and a community leader who can all attest to the individual's involvement in church, school and community activities. Preference is given to those applicants who graduated from Iowa high schools.

The National Black Nurses Association (NBNA) offers 14 scholarship programs ranging from $500 to $2,000 to African American nursing students. Applicants must be members of the NBNA to be considered and be enrolled in a bachelors degree nursing program with at least one full year of study remaining.
